JumpGrades is a scientific and research-based assessment, learning and practice program for children in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. A unique feature of the program is that it finds the right skill level for a child and enables learning at this level. Powerful reports track the amount of time spent on learning, the current skill level and the areas of difficulty for each child.
1) It all starts with an Initial Assessment test
in each subject/lesson to determine your child's starting learning level
2) New concepts are introduced as current topics are mastered
3) Your child will practice exercises based on the example provided modeled after the example
4) Each exercise is more challenging than the previous one
5) There are tutorials for difficult topics
6) Your child's progress is based on lesson mastery and speed
7) Child responses are immediately tracked and feedback given

What is the minimum age a child can be to benefit from using JumpGrades?
Children as young as 3½ years can use the system. A child who is familiar with the alphabet and numbers 1-9 is ready for JumpGrades. The program is for children in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
Upon registering you will be presented with two payment options: credit card or direct debit from your bank account.
Remember to note down your transaction number.
Payments through Check/Demand draft should be made in favor of "M.A. Center" and sent to our office:

Your Account will be activated within 24 hours of receiving the payments.
Online payments are activated immediately and an email will notify you of your login details; user ID and password.
Ideally, we recommend that your child use this program 4-5 times a week. The default time for each subject is set to 15 minutes.
Research has shown that shorter, frequent sessions are better for long term retention
compared to longer but fewer sessions. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged.
To use JumpGrades there are two user accounts, one is the parent account and other one is the student account. Parent login is where you control all the activities of the child and it will not have the learning component. Student login is where the student can start learning including the initial assessment.
Children have their own accounts where our system stores information specific to them. Please refer to the welcome mail from JumpGrades to see the detailed login information.
While your child is using the system, data about his or her performance is continuously recorded and updated. Such data is made available to the parent and child in the form of text and graphical reports. For every subject, these reports provide the following information:
a) Time spent on subject
b) Current level of child by subject matter
c) Progress made by specified time period
d) Areas of strength and areas needing improvement
We take payment security very seriously and that is why we have partnered with PayPal, an industry leader in internet payment security and fraud prevention.
In addition, your information is protected and is not sold or shared with any third parties.

How does this learning program complement my child's schooling?
Regular practice with JumpGrades will build a solid foundation in Math and English Reading and Comprehension skills. Math lessons are based on learning by understanding the different concepts. The English program is based on phonics, word study, vocabulary and comprehension which will ensure a strong foundation for English Reading and Comprehension. This will allow your child to perform better in school and in National Scholarship exams and standardized tests.
JumpGrades analyzes your child's pattern of responses to determine if a lesson has been mastered or not. For incorrect answers, thinking clues, hints and tutorials are provided. Questions may repeat to allow a child to master the lesson.
The Initial Assessment Test is designed to find the right level of learning for your child, a level that is neither too easy nor too difficult. This level may be different from your child's level at school. If a child performs exceptionally well in certain topics, say multiplication and fractions, testing is automatically adjusted to a higher level in those topics. Similarly, if the child is having difficulty with certain topics, say word problems and vocabulary, the level is automatically
adjusted to a level the child is comfortable with.
Hence it is possible that a child in 2nd Grade may be at 3rd Grade level in certain topics like multiplication, 1st Grade level in word problems, and 2nd Grade level in measurements.
This kind of adaptivity allows the child to learn at their own level and speed.
Note that during the assessment, there is no help, hint or tutorial. The system silently accepts the answer, adjusts the level of the next question based on previous performance and continues testing. The assessment can last for the first few days.
We strongly recommend that you go through the Initial Assessment to identify the correct starting level for your child. Your child will be very motivated to use the system and learn when the learning level is neither too easy nor too difficult. The only exception can be for the very young child in Kindergarten, they can start learning from the Kindergarten level.

Why are some buttons disabled during Initial Assessment?
During the Initial Assessment, the system silently accepts both correct and incorrect answers and automatically presents the next question. The Help and Tutor buttons are disabled to determine your child's current knowledge of the topics presented. It is very important that you do not help your child during the Initial Assessment.
Developed in collaboration with Amrita University (managed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Kerala) JumpGrades is a scientific research-based learning program.
The JumpGrades team is comprised of experienced teachers, educators and software professionals. These teachers are very well versed with the national standards and have developed and reviewed content for English and Math.
23.
Why is audio support not available for all classes?
Since younger children may have difficulty reading, audio is available up to 3rd Grade. After this, audio support is disabled as the child is expected to read the instructions on the screen.

JumpGrades uses the "Mastery Learning" approach. What does this mean?
JumpGrades is based on the philosophy of Mastery Learning. Mastery Learning is an instructional strategy based on the principle that all students can learn a set of reasonable objectives with appropriate instruction and sufficient time to learn.
• The curriculum is divided into relatively small learning units, each with their own objectives and assessment. • Learning materials and instructional strategies are identified; practice, formative evaluation, reinforcement, and
summarize
evaluation are included. • Each unit is preceded by brief diagnostic tests, or formative assessments. • The results of formative tests are used to provide supplementary instruction, or corrective activities to help the learner overcome problems.
Our strength is that our assessment and learning are adaptive, i.e. a child would go through a "smart assessment" and be placed at a level that is neither too hard nor too easy. This way an above average child, a child in a remedial program and a child who is "at grade level", can start practicing and learning at a level that they are comfortable with. The above average student will quickly move up through lessons regardless of his current grade level, whereas the challenged student will have more tutorials and questions covering his area of weakness.
Also, the program will adjust the speed of learning for every topic, so that a child will spend more time and be asked more questions from a topic that is difficult. This ensures that the child can experience success by learning at his own level and by controlling the speed at which he learns.
